This is a small raingarden that treats local road runoff. Using clever design the system treats low flows while high flows are bypassed to prevent flooding and scouring of the filter bed. The raingarden also uses a special filter media with a high hydraulic conductivity. This design was developed after years of experience from similar projects, and ensures that maximum benefit is achieved for the environment and the downstream waterway while reducing the footprint of the system.
