Water Sensitive Solutions was asked to assess the water supply situation in Port Olry, Espiritu Santo Island, Vanuatu. The existing water system had failed and water borne disease was spreading in the village, causing a number of deaths. Following a detailed site assessment, Water Sensitive Solutions was able to make a number of recommendations on how the water situation could be improved. Recommendations were based on local circumstances and make use of local resources where possible. The project was funded by Members of the Vanuatu Government.
